Kumbhalgarh & Ranakpur: history
Kumbhalgarh was built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha of Mewar. Its wall runs for about 36 km across the hills, which makes it one of the longest fort walls in the world. Maharana Pratap was born here in 1540.
Ranakpur's Jain temple dates from the same period and was built with Rana Kumbha's support. Kumbhalgarh is part of the UNESCO-listed Hill Forts of Rajasthan.
