Shirdi, Shani Shingnapur & Nashik: history
Sai Baba came to Shirdi as a young man in the mid-1800s and lived there for about sixty years, most of them in the old mosque he called Dwarkamai. He taught that all faiths lead to one God. He passed away on 15 October 1918, and his Samadhi Mandir is the centre of the town.
At Shani Shingnapur the deity is a black stone on an open platform, and the village is known for houses built without doors. Trimbakeshwar is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and lies near the source of the Godavari. Nashik is linked with Lord Rama's exile at Panchavati.
