Delhi, Agra & Jaipur: history

Delhi has been a capital for many dynasties. The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan built the walled city of Old Delhi and the Red Fort in the 17th century, and the British opened New Delhi in 1931.

Agra was a Mughal capital, where Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal between 1632 and 1653 in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Jaipur, the third corner of the triangle, was founded in 1727.
